I felt honoured to have been asked to photograph Dena & Mike’s wedding day. As Dena’s mom, Kathy, said during her wedding speech, only those who Dena & Mike really wanted in attendance got an invitation, so I felt very lucky to have had the opportunity to celebrate with these guys.
I was fortunate enough to have known Dena & Mike before their wedding, but I learned a lot about them in the last year. These guys not only have an amazing group of family and friends but they’re true leaders in their community. The amazing Cape Bretoner’s that they are, they will do anything for anyone, especially when it comes to rescuing dogs, taking people to prom and landscaping, apparently! 😉 There are always certain moments of a wedding day that stick out to me, and on this day, it was during family photos. Mike’s dad just lit up around Dena. Having learned during speeches that she took such great care of him at a time of need, I saw first hand how appreciated and loved she is by him- it was truly something special. Having Dena’s grandfather, Eddie, enjoy the wedding was also something really memorable and I’m sure he’s happy he got the chance to celebrate too.
Carla’s champagne pop & spill, the ring bearer’s signs, Thomas- the baby of honour, Kaitlin with her dropped bouquet, Bruce & Rob’s speeches (and the list goes on)- I was laughing all day! Dena & Mike, I hope you guys had an amazing day and thank you again for choosing me to do your photos! <3
