In order for you to love your photos, you have to love the experience as well. I’ll do my best to make sure you enjoy every minute of it.

It’s pretty normal for me to come home from wedding days with messy, wind-blown hair, sunburns and mud all over my feet. I’ve been eaten alive by bugs and have nearly gotten frostbite during more than one engagement session. Don’t get me started on how much sand and grass I track into my car and home after a family session. While I’m shooting though, these kinds of things aren’t even on my radar. I get in the zone.

It’s not only how I feel while I’m shooting that tells me I’ve found my passion. It’s also because my favourite sound is the click of the shutter. It’s because I love when people burst out laughing or have a tear in their eye after seeing a photo I’ve taken. It’s because a single photo can tell a story which leads to a piece of history. It’s because photos last forever and can remind you of the most important people and times in your life. That’s why I love photography.

My ultimate goal…

Is for you to love your photos, obviously! Not just when you first look at them though, when excitement is at its peak, but for years to come. I would love for you to pull out an album or prints from your session years or even decades down the road and be able to reminisce fondly over the moments that are captured in front of you. You may even want to share these moments with your children or grandchildren someday and I think that’s really powerful. That is why I choose to shoot with a natural, candid approach- so that you and your loved ones will be able to see pieces of the real you in the photos. It’s also why I keep my editing style pretty natural- I believe that’s part of what keeps the photos classic and timeless.
